| Friday, July 9 1999 Klaus Balkenhol, German Team Coach A German policeman, Klaus
Balkenhol established himself in the international dressage scene as a police rider with
his working police horse, Rabauke. His trainers were Baron von Beverfoerde, Otto Hartwich,
and Willie Schultheiss. With Goldstern, also a police horse Balkenhol won two team gold
medals and one individual bronze medal at the Olympic games as well as a team gold medal
and individual silver medal at the World Equestrian Games in the Hague 1994. Since 1997 he is the national trainer for the German Dressage Team and individual trainer for 1999 European Team gold medallists Nadine Capellmann and Ulla Salzgeber. Balkenhol has conducted training clinics in America for selected riders as part of the USET developing rider programs, as well as for several Americans training in Europe.
