Carol Lavell and Much Ado
Looks like it's another big time horse for Olympic medallist, Carol Lavell who with the late great Gifted helped to bring the American Dressage Team to new heights.
It's Much Ado, the 6 year old KWPN by Quatro, a stallion known for his jumper lines, who is by the Selle Francais stallion, Quredo de Paulstra (by Galoubet). The dam Varla is by Abgar. Winning practically every ride during the Florida dressage circuit, they scored in the upper 70's in the majority of their tests. Lavell saw the young horse at a farm owned by Dutch breeder Jan Greve, and kept asking about him as he got older. Greve himself appeared at the Gold Coast Spring Classic to see for himself the rapid rise of the massive 17.2 hand horse who seemed to grow throughout the season. Carol and husband Tom will be staying a bit longer in their winter residence to help next door neighbors at The Equestrian Estates where the US Dressage Olympic Selection Trials will be held in May.
