Oded Shimoni Wins Wellington Grand Prix

Oded Shimoni Israeli rider Oded Shimoni and his Dutch gelding Glenstern (by Kaisterstern, out of a Saluut mare), won Friday's Grand Prix at the WEF in Wellington, Florida.

Their test showed consistency and fluidity combined with the precision necessary for a score of 68.667%. Shimoni, who owns Glenstern, said that "This is the beginning of the season and he feels stronger and more confirmed in the movements than last year." The pair also won the Grand Prix at the Gold Coast Classic, January 19-21.

He says that the horse's strength is in the fact that he is talented in many things, rather than being exceptional in one thing, such as passage or extensions. "He is an extremely elegant horse and he has International quality in his gaits and in the movements," he said.

Shimoni's next competition will be at the CDI in Wellington and his long-term goals with this horse include the World Championships and possibly the European Championships.
