March 5, 2001 A Winning Weekend for Kingsclere Stables Miami
has been on Shimoni and partner Nancy Later's, winter tour since first
competing in Florida. Oded Shimoni who rides for Israel is focusing on
qualifying for the European Championships and the 2001 World Equestrian
Games in Jerez, Spain. Even when their truck was stolen from a Miami hotel
parking lot, Shimoni and Later have continued to return, bringing most
of their barn with them. Together the couple won top honors with each
horse and at each level they competed. The 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood,
Glenstern, who continues to gain strength, confidence, and blue ribbons
with each outing, dominated the Grand Prix, winning the class with a 65.600.
In the Prix St George/Intermediare 1 division Shimoni and Mistral, a 12-year-old Belgian Warmblood owned by Christine Von Gartzen placed second in the Prix St George (66.500) to Tuni Page and Claire (69.000). In the Intermediare 1, Tuni (who Shimoni is currently coaching) and Oded switched places. Mistral winning with a 66.750, to Claire's 66.500. Shimoni is set to move his newer mount, James Bond into the FEI Levels. James Bond a nine-year-old KWPN Dutch Warmblood, is a huge (17.2 h) and impressive animal who is coming into his own. Winning fourth level test 2 with a 67.250, "Bond" is co-owned by Saddlewood Farms. The same partnership that owns the talented six-year-old KWPN Dutch Warmblood, Noway, ridden by Nancy Later who peaked at 70.000 in First Level Test 2. Later also won reserve champion at fouth level with Susanne McCarthy's Manster. |
