March 7, 2001 Barisone Barn Represented in Miami The
Barisone Barn made their first appearance of the season at Miami Dade
Winter Dressage coming in from their winter headquarters in Loxahatchee,
Florida. Barisone who finished 5th in the 2000 USET Olympic Selection
Trials with the brilliant and sensitive Danish mare Safir (Diamond x May
Sharif), owned by Sue Thomas had a rocky weekend, but took in stride.
Barisone's diesel tractor truck was spotted getting towed after it stopped in the middle of a busy downtown Miami intersection, requiring a trip back to Loxahatchee to get another truck to take the horses home after the show. Anyone who ventures to ask him about his beloved truck will get an instant lesson on how the Ford Power Stroke engine works, and then some! Safir's Grand Prix was not her best day, but she rebounded in Sunday's Grand Prix Special to win with a 64.418. Related Links |
