Morse Uses USET Grant to Train with Kyra Kyrklund
Leslie
Morse and her stallion Kingston arrived in England last week to begin
their two month training program with four time Olympian Kyra Kyrklund.
The pair is already hard at work with daily lessons from Kyrklund. "We're
working on piaffe and passage, as well as the basics of getting him
to carry more weight on his hindquarters," Morse said.
Morse is using her USET Grant for the trip, and hopes to make use of
every moment with Kyrklund. "My goal is to get a clear understanding
of Kyra's methods, so that when I go home I can really apply it to my
day to day riding," Morse said.
"Dressage Diaries" appears on www.paragonfarms.net
and will chronicle Morse's experiences in England. She will share training
tips from her lessons and tell of her adventures in the English countryside.
Kingston and Morse were the 2001 USET Festival of Champions Intermediaire
Champions. The pair has been together for three years and were nearly
undefeated for two seasons with scores routinely over 70%. Morse grew
up in California and has been competitive with several horses at the
FEI level for the past nine years. She now trains at Paragon Farms in
Malibu.
