Tuesday February 18, 2003 Dream Score for Monica Theodorescu at the CDI-W Neumunster
Aboard her elegant Trakehner mare Renaissance Fleur TSF, Monica placed first with five judges and beat European Champion Ulla Salzgeber, who rode her second Grand Prix horse Wallstreet. Salzgeber and her Russian bred Wall Street collected 77.07 %, while German A-team mate Isabell Werth finished third with 75.91 %, riding the Oldenburg gelding Apache OLD (by Alabaster). In the Saturday World Cup Grand Prix class, Salzgeber was in the lead with 76.08%, while Martin Schaudt ranked second with 72.88%. Schaudt, who once enjoyed international fame as a German Olympic team member with his Westfalian Durgo, is back on the scene with the Baden Wurttenberger Loesdau's Loriot. Monica Theodorescu and Renaissance Fleur (by Tuareg) received 72.76% from the judges and placed third. The small tour was contested between a large pack of German riders and one "foreigner", the German/Australian Kristy Oatley Nist. In the Prix St Georges, the trophy went to outsider Karin Kunert, who rode Conte Conyaro to a 68.08% score. Kristy Oatley-Nist and her licensed Oldenburg stallion Rosemount Quando Quando finished second with 66.92%. In the Intermediaire I, the trot-specialist Quando Quando (by Quattro B), who was formerly trained by Gestut Gronwoldhof's Falk Rosenbauer, excelled and with 68.10 % he offered his owner Oatley Nist the blue ribbon.
