Wednesday February 26, 2003 Belinda Nairn-Wertman and Goffert Go For It!
Nairn-Wertman and Goffert's success was not a flash in the pan. The the pair had already produced top placings at Southern Comfort two weeks before. With marks of 63.667% in the St Georges and 61.750% in the Intermediaire I, they finished third and fifth. These performances were only the appetizer to the grand Florida Dressage Concours "Conquest" were the dynamic duo went for it and reigned supreme in the small tour. Goffert 369 is an approved Friesian stallion by the preferent stallion Reitse out of the star mare Nynke J. (by Cobus) and is owned by Iron Spring Farm. Also known as Herbie, the 11-year old Goffert was purchased by Mary Alice Malone in The Nehterlands late 2001. Malone showed the impressive black Friesian at Fourth level herself in 2002, but due to her busy schedule, she decided to turn the ride over to Belinda Nairn-Wertman. Malone's decision proved to be a wise one, resulting in a touch of Friesian success in the warmblood-ruled dressage world. Iron Spring Farm stands Goffert via frozen semen and his first US foals are due this year. Related
