Wednesday June 11, 2003 KWPN Stallion Facet Arrives in the United States
Facet is a 16-year old Dutch warmblood who gained international recognition as Prix St Georges horse under Dutch Olympic team rider Ellen Bontje. In 1999, Facet was sold to Manfred Queck who later sold him to Gerda Lehmann. The latter competed him in 1999 but returned to ride to Queck in 2000. Manfred Queck and Facet became 2000 Baden Wurttemberg Reserve Champions at Grand Prix level and maintained a successful CDI competition career until 2002. Gay Walker found Facet in Germany on a buying trip with trainers Jennifer and Jurgen Hoffmann. After having seen more than 50 horses, her eye was caught on the flasy appearance of Facet and she was hooked on the horse for life. "Facet is the best thing that ever happened to me. I feel like I've won the lottery," Walker said. Image by
