Dressage Canada Honours Swarovski’s Peter
& Marilyn White During Royal Winter Fair
Dressage
Canada will be honouring Peter & Marilyn White of Swarovski Canada
following the Canadian League FEI World Cup Freestyle sponsored by Swarovski
the evening of November 8th at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in
Toronto.
The couple will be presented with Dressage Canada’s first ever
Lifetime Honourary Membership in recognition of their outstanding support
and commitment to Canadian Dressage.
The dynamic duo have been one of the most steadfast supporters of Canadian
dressage this country has seen. In addition to being instrumental in
Swarovski’s 6-year sponsorship of the Canadian League FEI World
Cup Final, Peter and Marilyn have also helped with numerous grassroots
competitions as well as the CDI in Blainville, Quebec. Their support
and appreciation has extended not only to Canadian dressage riders,
but also to the volunteers, event organizers and judges who have at
one time or another received a shimmering Swarovski pin or a beautiful
Swarovski collectible in recognition of their hard work and dedication
to the sport.
The relationship between Swarovski and dressage has been a natural one
as both exemplify the partnership of tradition and artistry required
in both crafts. Marilyn herself is an avid dressage rider and competitor,
and can be regularly seen on the competitive dressage circuit. The couple
will be retiring from their positions at Swarovski in December 2003,
and this year’s Canadian League FEI World Cup Final will mark
the final dressage event that Swarovski will be sponsoring in Canada
under their guidance.
About the Canadian League FEI World Cup Finals
The Canadian League FEI World Cup Finals are held each
year during the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. Declared Grand Prix
riders qualify and gather points throughout the year at specified competitions
in both the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Freestyle classes. The top
5 finishers are then invited to perform in the Finals held during the
Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, Ontario. The Canadian League
FEI World Cup Finals consist of the Grand Prix class and the Grand Prix
Freestyle, with the result of the Freestyle test counts 50% more than
the results of the Grand Prix Test. The eventual winner is then invited
to attend the 2004 World Cup Final in Dusseldorf, Germany, as Canada’s
sole representative.
