Wednesday March 31, 2004 Dorie Addy-Crow and Sir Sinclair Excel in Florida
At Snowbird's Paradise in Clarcona, Florida, Sir Sinclair impressed friend and foe with strong performances under his new steady rider Dorie Addy-Crow. Scrutinized by judges Marianne Ludwig, Gary Rockwell and Linda Zang, the bay stallion won two dressage performances at First and Second Level with scores of 67.37% and 69.72%. They went on to win the FEI Young Horse test for 5-years old scoring 9 for walk 9, 8.2 for trot, 9 for canter, 7.5 for suppleness and 8.5 for overall impression, totalling 83.49%. Sir Sinclair was declared First and Second Level Champion and became the show's High Point Champion. Sir Sinclair, a bay Lord Sinclair x Flemmingh, was purchased by Mary Alice Malone of Iron Spring Farm through Belinda Wertman of INSPO. In the Netherlands, Sir Sinclair had already bred to 155 mares and was the price highlight at the KWPN Select Sale auction for licensed and non-licensed stallions. Connecting Addie-Crow to Sir Sinclair was an unpredictable twist of fate. "When he first came over to the USA, it was the fall and we wanted to add him and another new Friesian stallion we bought at the same time to our farm video," Meghan de Garay of Iron Spring Farm explained. "Belinda suggested having her assistant, Dorie Addy-Crow, start him for us to get him ready for the video. They clicked so well that Mary Alice asked Dorie if she wanted to ride him this year and compete him for ISF." At the American Dressage Concours in Venice, FL, Addy-Crow and Sir Sinclair claimed victory in the FEI Young Horse test once again with scores of 68.06% and 80.40%. At Southern Comfort in Clarcona, FL, Sir Sinclair took in his first "defeat". After a First Level 67.11% victory, the bay sire placed second with 65.28% at Second Level. |
