Red Sky in the Morn, Eventers Forewarn

The relentless rain finally let up for cross country day on Saturday, for the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event, and the crowds enjoyed a brilliant day of world class pre-Olympic competition. The course, at the Kentucky Horse Park, has never been as beautiful, with magnificent flowers, decorations, and new fence designs.

We had a super day of photographing, covering much of the vast course, and thanks to the excellent reporting done by Jennifer Ward, and Classic Communications, we have a wonderful photo tour of the highlights of the day.

But as we cranked up the coffee machine this morning, the only ray of light for Sunday, and the final phase of the event Stadium Jumping, was about a 10 minutes of red light on the horizon. We are packing it in and headed back to Florida, to sunnier skies, which most likely will return to Kentucky as well once the event is over.
