Wednesday May 2, 2004 2004 Detroit Dressage Ashley Wright Makes an Impression in Detroit
All three riders won championships mounted on horses that looked typy for relaxation and professionalism. "The horses we brought here are all younger," said Wright, the primary trainer at her Grandview Equestrian facility.
At home Wright finds the 16.1, black horse rides best bareback because his back is extremely sensitive. 26 saddles later, perhaps she's found the right one which she purchased two days before the Detroit Dressage show. On the Oldenburg gelding Rubix, 5, 15.3, Wright won reserve in First Open with 70.29. Wright's student Laurie O'Neill, 25, brought Rubix (by Rubinstein out of Lexina) to Wright for training and to sell. He scored 70 on both his tests and this is his first year of showing. |
