Astrid Appels Visits the USA, Mary and JJ Prepare to Evacuate Hurricane Francis

With our very competent Olympic crew finishing up coverage of the Equestrian Games in Athens, the phelpsphotos.com tour headed for Jackson Hole Wyoming to cover the annual Event at Jackson Hole. We finally enticed Astrid Appels (eurodressage.com) to join us, along with longtime associate Leah Trunzo, who came from south Florida. We managed to fit it all in, riding, rafting, and animal hunting (with cameras only!)

Meanwhile upon our return to Florida, news of the impending hurricane Francis meant a 24 hour effort to board up our home just 20 miles inland from Daytona Beach in preparation to evacuate. Our office manager and insurance Customer Sales Representative Tracey Scharf reserved 17 rooms in a hotel in Perry Georgia, for her extended family, while we will travel with corgis, camper, JJ's daughter and grandsons, a week early to Kentucky where we will be covering the Markel National Young Horse Championships, September 10-12, at the Kentucky Horse Park.
