Settling in At Landgut Waid

Landgut waid Lisa is also enjoying her rides on Dr. Schatzmann’s own two horses that she will keep fit for him, and may possibly compete in the FEI levels. Rounding out the group are two privately owned horses Lisa has had in training, one of which is a five year old owned by friend and U.S. clinic organizer Cindy Snowden.

There are no definitive competition plans, but a goal would be to qualify one or more of these horses for the World Championships or the Bundeschampionat.

Dr. Schatzmann has a rather large property called Landgut Waid, which sits on a hill overlooking the village. He maintains hundreds of different fruit trees and berry plants from which he makes his own schnapps. The landscaping around the outdoor ring, the stables, the orchards and his home is impeccable and the entire property has a park-like setting.

Landgut waid “When I finish riding for the day, I walk along and stop to sit on a bench just about the time the sun is going down. You can see the church steeples in the village and the Alps I the distance. It is simply beautiful. I feel as if I am on vacation every day” said Lisa.
