Lucky Tiger and Success Top the Grand Prix in Day Two of Wellington Dressage

Day two of Wellington Dressage took the sport to new heights when an exuberant Lucky Tiger (Danish gelding by Lucky Light) leaped into the air to celebrate his win in the $1500 USEF Grand Prix. The pair who were part of the 2003 Pan American Gold Medal Team, made their Florida Grand Prix debut showing the judges their talent and strength. Rider, Pierre St. Jacques seemed undaunted by the big ten-year-old Danish gelding’s antics during the awards ceremony after winning the Grand Prix with a score of 66.667%.

On the sidelines, St. Jacques’ wife Pam Goodrich, shouted with glee, “There’s a tiger in the tank”, as Lucky Tiger demonstrated his airs above the ground. Second in the USEF Grand Prix was George Williams on Marnix with a 65.556%, followed by Margot McAllister and Kandinsky with a score 65.000%. Prior to the Lucky Tiger’s brilliant leap all three horses were passaging in perfect rhythm when Lucky Tiger suddenly got the notion to show off.
