Carousel
and Steve Kanikkeberg Shine in the FEI Dressage Test for 6 Year Olds
Steve
Kanikkeberg of Jensen Beach, Florida has been working with DiClemente
for over a year and coming to her farm 5 days a week to work with “Fluffy”
and her 5-year-old Brisk, who also came from Middlefield Farm. “Sometimes
we fight over him.” grinned DiClemente. Both trainer and student
competed throughout the weekend sharing both horses without a hitch.
DiClemente won her training level 4 class Sunday on Brisk with a 67.885,
and the adult amateur second level class Friday on Carousel. Then she
handed over the reins to her trainer, Kanikkeberg for Sunday’s
Young Horse class, catching the eye of the spectators at ringside. “He
is a lot of fun to train,” said Steve, “and he has a great
work ethic. He always tries his best. We have high hopes for his future.
He is one of the nicest horses I has ever ridden.”
“Both
of my horses are insured with Mary Phelps, an Agent for Markel.”
added DiClemente. Encouraged by their results at the Equestrian Estates
show, the Trainer/owner team are making plans for the selection trials
later this spring in Raleigh North Carolina.
