We’re off to Aachen!

We’re headed out to the airport and off to Aachen for the 2005 CHIO Aachen Horse Show. Last November we posted an article about our favorite hotel, a castle in Heerlen, where we blocked 20 rooms in hopes of filling them with friends and readers who were interested in joining us. We filled 25 rooms, are hosting a dinner party Thursday evening for 60 people, a tour of the Aachen cathedral with lunch, and coordinated tickets and a VIP table for most of our guests!

Our readers are invited to join us, follow our coverage, and check our website daily as Astrid Appels and Mary Phelps, JJ. Hathaway, and Margaret Heroy bring you news, photos, stories and more from the #1 horse show in the world. And, we are being joined by a TV crew headed up by Melvin Cox of Sportsquest International, from the soon to be launched Horse Channel who will be following our group as well as covering behind the scenes action for their fall programming. Who knows, we may have a reality TV show in the making.

Please note, we have been getting many requests for the WEG 2006, but are not planning a tour. It's too complicated with the organizing committe controlling most of the hotels. But we are already making plans for 2007, so be sure to stay tuned to DressageDaily for more details to come.

Meanwhile, JJ. and I saved up our frequent flier miles and we are looking forward to a day of travel in business class. See you when we get there!
