Elly Schobel's Raison de Joie Captures Colt Honors

Raison de JoieIt was an American bred three-year-old colt, Elly Schobel’s Raison de Joie, who took home the top honors of the day, winning the Cosequin USDF Horse of the Year for in Hand, the Three-Year-Old Colts and Gelding Class and Championship, Three-Year-Old Material Class, and Suitable to Become a Dressage Horse.

Bred in Lexington Kentucky at Dreamtime Farm, the attractive leggy dark bay stallion is by Regulus out of Krystal Heiressxx by Kabaley xx, is the half brother to Schobel’s successful Raison D’Etre, who dominated the Young Horse classes as a 5 and six year old. “They called me when this colt was 2 days old and said “We have another one for you.” said Schobel. “I didn’t even lay eyes on him until he was four months old, and I knew the minute I saw him he was a winner.”
