Buy a Brick and Build the Future of Dressage

As we approach the end of 2005, and make preparations for the USDF Annual Meeting in California in early December, a very exciting era for American Dressage has begun. The USDF National Education Center, the permanent home for the USDF at the Kentucky Horse Park is well underway, as the fundraising has been stepped up a notch with the USDF “Buy a Brick” program.

We at DressageDaily have been waiting for this phase, and as soon as we saw the 2 page spread in the November issue of USDF Connections, we contacted Charlotte Williams at ccampaign@usdf.org, and made a pledge for our USDF Dedication Brick, which will be in the main entrance of the building. We have chosen to dedicate our brick in loving memory of one of the greatest Dressage personalities of all time, Dr. Reiner Klimke. A multi Olympian and great trainer and horseman, Reiner Klimke left this earth too soon, just 2 weeks after my husband JJ Hathaway and I had the honor and priviledge of being guest of Reiner and Ruth Klimke in their home in Muenster Germany.

Through the “Buy a Brick” campaign, you can help to build the future of Dressage in America by giving a permanent tribute to a beloved horse, instructor, trainer or owner who has earned our respect.

You can have your name, family or farm, or loyal canine companion immortalized. Perhaps your GMO, business, or Show can become a part of this creative, fun way to become a part of the new phase in the lives of all of us in America with a passion for Dressage.

- 8”x8” for $1000 – 220 available
- 8”x4” for $500, 424 available

Main Entrance
- 8”x8” for $2000, 84 available
- 8”x4” for $1500, 147 available.

Here’s the good thing, you can take you time to pay! Bricks can be obtained by making a pledge, which can be paid over a period of up to five years. Think of this as a great holiday idea where you can surprise someone special with the gift of their name or horse’s name on a brick.
