Euro Update: Hindle, Salzgeber and Lis In the Blue at CDI Stadl Paura

British Emma Hindle, German Ulla Salzgeber and Russian Iryna Lis took blue ribbons at the beautiful CDI Stadl Paura in the Alps of Austria. Olympic team rider Emma Hindle captured a first place in the Grand Prix for Special aboard her Hanoverian licensed stallion Lancet (by Wenzel x Shogun xx). Hindle scored 70.75%. Ulla Salzgeber is back in the picture with an international Grand Prix horse. Aboard First Finley, she won the Grand Prix for kur with 71.54%, while Russian Iryna Lis scored the highest in the kur to music with 74.82%.

At the international show jumping competition in Goteborg, Sweden, two national dressage classes were held at small tour level. Jan Brink and his young Swedish stallion Bjorsells Biggles (by Briar) won both the Intermediaire I and Inter 1 Kur to Music with scores in the seventies. Per Sandgaard and Zardin Firfod (by Gribaldi) stayed closely on their heels.

Andrew Gould and Gareth Hughes have shown to be in command over their competitors at the 2006 British Dressage Winter Championships. In the advanced medium class, Australian born Gareth Hughes beat the invincible pair Damian Hallam and Spirit Freedom. Aboard Rebecca Patmore's 8-year old Korenbloem Sandman (by Jazz), Hughes won the Advanced Medium and Medium Open division. Hallam, who rode his 2005 World Young Horse Reserve Champion to a second place, stated that a virus kept Spirit from being his best. Andrew Gould reigned supreme on the 18 hands high KWPN branded Numero Uno, winning the Prix St Georges freestyle and Intermediaire I freestyle.
