Jessica Jo Tate and Donnermuth Shine in USEF Markel Young Horse Dressage Qualifier

Today was a qualifier for horses who needed another score for the USEF Markel Young Horse Dressage Eastern Selection Trial for the FEI World Breeding Championships, which starts tomorrow with the preliminary test.

Most of the six year olds scratched the qualifier, including Lisa Wilcox with two. Of the eight five-year-olds who competed, Jessica Jo Tate’s Donnermuth (Don Bedo - Wonne X Worldchamp) was the standout. His score of 82.4 was miles ahead of the field. The big black Rheinlander gelding was a show stopper in the warm-up, leading a crowd into the coliseum like the pied piper.
