Sire Line Flaneur. From East Prussian breeding comes Flaneur, foaled in 1965 and one of the dominant Trakehner sires. He was sired by Maharadscha, with his dam Flocke IV. Hohenstein (Caprimond-Matador; 1991 Trak.) is one of the top sires for several breeding areas. One of his champion stallion sons is His Highness. Hohenstein and his sire Caprimond (Caron-Mackensen; 1985 Trak.) performed a pas de deux. Sire Line Sacramento Song. This Irish Thoroughbred, foaled in 1967, was an improvement sire brought into Hannoverian and Oldenburg breeding areas. His son Sandro was a champion jumper and the grandsire of Sandro Hit, one of the most popular current sires of dressage horses.
Sire Line Pilatus. Thoroughbreds have contributed to the Westfalen's success. Pluchino xx sired Perseus, whose son Pilatus was out of a Duellant mare. Pilatus (1968-1985) had three prominent sons: Pilot, Polydor, and Roemer (Dutch). Pilot, out of a Graphit mare, has been one of Germany's top jumper sires. Polydor sired breeding stock and performance horses, and Roemer was in the U.S. The older stallion presented was the jumper, Potsdam (Polydor-Goldstern; 1989 Rheinl.), shown in hand. Peking (Polytraum-Paradox I; 2001 Westf.) was the younger stallion. |
