Saturday September 30, 2006 Courtney King and Idocus Win the Devon Grand Prix
Just back from the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany, Colombian Dr. Cesar Parra landed a second place aboard Horses Unlimited's French bred licensed stallion Galant du Serein. Parra achieved a score of 66.292%. The Wellington based Lisette Milner placed third on her licensed Dutch stallion Eminence. The pair got 64.167% from the international panel of judges. These three riders will be strong contenders Saturday evening for the famous Grand Prix freestyle that will shake the Devon horse grounds during the most scintillating horse show evening of the year. The Grand Prix for Special, which was held Friday afternoon, was won by Melissa Taylor on Lars Petersen's Danish warmblood gelding Succes (by Blue Hors Silver Moon). The winning score was just a 62.583% as Taylor made a several mistakes, but tshe rode a very focused test in which the horse stayed nicely uphill. Katherine Bateson placed second on Jane Clark's newest horse Collo, a gigantic Holsteiner gelding. Text by
