Carol Lavell and Much Ado Top The Leader Boards – Again

Carol Lavell may as well book her hotel room now for the USEF Festival of Champions, Gladstone to be held in June, as the Olympic veteran and her own Much Ado won the High Performance Prix St Georges with a 72.250%.

“Most of the judge’s comments” admitted Lavell, “were about my hair, so I guess I will have to do something about my ‘do’.”

Lavell and her big bay 13-year-old KWPN by Quattro B, have come into their own this season, gaining strength and mileage each time out. For Lavell who can actually see her property from the beautiful Equestrian Estates show grounds, familiarity does not always mean it can be easier for her sensitive partner.

The High Performance Prix St Georges class at Dressage at Equestrian Estates continues to set the stage for the USEF Festival of Champions as top horse and rider combinations continue to seek the all important qualifing scores. Gaining momentum is Susie Dutta riding Horses Unlimited’s Hanoverian stallion by Pik Bube II.

Finishing second with a 70.917% the handsome 13-year-old black stallion is the impotme of the expression “work horse.” Recently teamed up with Pik L, Dutta and Horses Unlimited are vying for a spot on the Pan American Team which will be headed to Rio this July.
