Fall Fever Hits Hard at DressageDaily's Kentucky Headquarters

It's not too often we get a chance to enjoy ourselves here with our busy schedule of over 24 shows a year to cover and it doesn't get any better than this. Perfect weather, beautiful colors, lots of fun and miles and miles of trails. Nope, we don't have any horses (yet) even though we are settled into our Kentucky property which has 127 acres of fabulous fields, woods, trails and creeks.

Beyond our property are trails which we have been told go all the way to Tennessee. Each day we go "riding" we find a new trail or back road, and somehow always manage to find our way back home.

DressageDaily's Mary Phelps has mastered the 4-wheeler, and Trooper prefers to ride in front. JJ Hathaway has "buck fever" and had been wearing his camoflage for weeks and getting the deer stands in shape for hunting season about to begin next week.

We have been in a festive mood here lately, going to nearby Lexington often for parties, and meetings as preparations for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games kicks into high gear. Soon we will be packing the RV and heading for Florida for back to back Conventions: USDF (you got to come to this one!) and AAEP (American Association of Equine Practitioners). We have our spot reserved at Disney's Fort Wilderness, which will provide a good break from the reality of 10 days in a convention center. But for now through Thanksgiving, it's home sweet Kentucky home where there is the longest spring, and the longest fall to enjoy.
