Yvonne Losos de Muñiz Sets Her Sights on the 2008 Beijing Olympics - Dressage
Born in Nigeria, Africa, Yvonne moved to Canada when she was fourteen. It was in 1990 that she moved to the Dominican Republic, where she has remained ever since. With her husband, Eduardo, Yvonne has played a key role in the development of dressage in the Dominican Republic, and she represents the Caribbean nation in international competition. The couple owns a private training facility named Las Marismas in their home country, which caters to dedicated jumper and dressage riders from island’s capital, Santo Domingo. Riding Bernstein DVH, an 11-year-old Hanoverian stallion by Banditentraum, Yvonne had a very successful 2007 show season, starting off with great results in the Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera and other CDIs in Spain. With the 2007 Pan Am Games now behind her, she’s preparing to launch back into Grand Prix competition, with her eyes set on qualifying for the upcoming 2008 Olympics. Further down the road, she’s also targeting World Cup events and the 2010 Alltech-FEI World Equestrian Games. With a slew of top-notch young horses in her stable, Yvonne is sure to be in the international spotlight for some years to come. Check out
