Karin Reid Offield and Lingh Have Impressive Showing at Dressage CDI-W Maastricht

Karin Reid Offield was the only American in Dressage in an invitational field at the CDI-W - Maastricht, held in the Netherlands November 23-25. Riding her KWPV stallion Lingh, by Flemmingh, she held her own, placing sixth in the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle, which was won by Anky Van Grunsven and Salinero.

"I have wanted to show in Europe all my life. Offield told DressageDaily. "Lingh was super at Maastricht, our relationship is becoming easier, my rides were improved so I could not ask for more. Not today, at least....because we are happy !"

With Edward Gal, Lingh was a Dutch National Champion and the team silver medalist at the 2005 European Championships and at the 2006 World Championships. He also charmed the crowds in the USA at the 2005 World Cup Final winning the Grand Prix and finishing second in the Freestyle.

"Many of the Dutch fans who love Lingh came to find me and told me how pleased they were to see him again and they were happy to see me riding him." added Offield. "Edward Gal called us and was able to to watch the classes on the internet. He really was happy with our work."

Offield who has been in Europe for several months has been training at Anky Van Grunsven's barn in Erp, Netherlands. "I think Maastricht was the finest show I have ever attended. It was held in a convention center. It was welcoming to both spectator and participant, and very sophisticated for the many sponsors that were being wined and dined. As a family tradition I was told that every youngster attends the show on Sunday, it is part of Dutch culture! The jumping was world class. Peter Wylde and Laura Kraut were amazing. If you can, look for their rides on filmloop.nl."
