Judy Guden - In Loving Memory of a Life Well Lived

Wellington, Florida - Last night at about 8:00 PM, Judy died of complications from the cancer she had valiantly fought for over 5 years. She died peacefully in her sleep and was finally free from the pain that had consumed her since early this summer.

Guden, who owns Sagacious HF, was too ill to travel to the Pan American Games or to Dressage at Devon to watch the demonstration ride of Lauren Sammis and Sagacious HW, but just before her passing she was able to hear the music, and feel the ride while her husband Al and Lauren were with her in the hospital. "She lifted her hands as if she was riding the test, and told Lauren, "You better not go off course!" Al told DressageDaily.

She lived a full and wonderful life until very recently when the cancer began to spread. She was a graduate of Abilene Christian University and taught in the Texas and New York school systems before retiring. She enjoyed our horses and especially her favorite, Pan American Silver Medallist - Sagacious HF. She would come out to the back patio in her bathrobe most mornings in the winter and watch Lauren ride him with a fire blazing to keep her warm. Now she will be able to watch him any time she wants.

We will miss her so much but it was time for her to go and she went with great dignity.

The family will be at home, Sunday, December 2, to receive anyone who wants to say hello from 1:00 PM until about 4:00 PM. Please stop by:
2129 Appaloosa Trail
Wellington FL 333414

Judy's wishes were to be cremated and not to have a ceremony. She asked that we celebrate her life and we will do that early in 2008.

In lieu of flowers, she requested contributions be made in her name to the:
