Richard Davison, New British Team Captain

One of Britain’s most experienced dressage competitors Richard Davison (pictured) has been appointed the World Class Performance Programme (WCPP) team captain for the senior dressage team. This position has been created to support WCPP Dressage Manager David Trott, who has had to reduce his commitments to the programme due to personal circumstances. David will continue to manage the Dressage Equine Pathway programme and David and Richard will work together in the run up to and during the 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong. Richard’s role will involve managing the team, including organisation and motivation; he will not be involved in the selection process.

Richard said: “There are some amazing combinations at the top of our sport at the moment. They will be extremely busy over the next few months in the run-up to the Olympics and I will endeavour to help make their journey as easy as possible.”

Equipage, Price Highlight of the 2007 Vechta Winter Mixed Sales

Sissy Max-Theurer purchased yet another price highlight at an auction in Vechta. She bought the dark bay Sandro Hit x Feiner Stern x Harlekin mare Equipage for the top price of 113,00 euro at Winter Mixed Sales on Sunday December 9, 2007.

To acquire Equipage, Max-Theurer got involved in a tough bidding duel with Canadian Olympic rider Evi Strasser. The latter ended up buying Wonderful Dream, a Welt Hit II x Davignon x Raphael son, for 85,000 euro, along with two more that will travel to Canada.

The belgian Patrick d'heer purchased the second most expensive horse. He bought the State Premium Mare Vogelhochzeit. The liver chestnut mare is by Rosario x Alabaster x Lemon Tree and sold to Belgium for 90,000 euro.
