Our Visit at Palmetto Bluff
Our 1,500-square-foot cottage located on the inlet waterway had French doors to a screened-in porch, plush king-sized beds, and a gas fireplace that was glowing as we checked in on an unseasonably chilly afternoon. A flat screen TV, desk and high speed fiber optic internet were all included, as well as a luxurious bathroom with a steam bath in the huge shower that had three shower heads. Cars are left with the valet, and guests escorted to their cottages in golf carts. Each room provides a complimentary gourmet coffee machine, water, juice, and a welcome bottle of fine wine.
We tried to tip our valet on our first day, but he refused. A $25 daily resort fee covers the plethora of resort amenities and services offered by their warm and accommodating staff. "The highest level of service without pretense" is how the services at The Inn at Palmetto Bluff are described. By the second day we could envision a life there as the ultimate in assisted living. Besides the Inn's dining room, which also offers a private party area in the wine cellar and waterfront tables on the large porch, there is a popular bistro called Buffalo's, and a market that can make and deliver special orders from the deli. They even have their own gas station! Horse Heaven at Longfield Stables – Palmetto Bluffs |
