“Build It and They Will Come” Dressage Enthusiasts Flock to the Dressage Affaire

Euphoria Delights Nick Wagman in the Prix St George Dressage

Steffen Peters aboard Mary Keenan’s Montango won the High Perfomance PSG with  68.9%. Reserve Champion was by Nick Wagman and his own Euphoria with a 65.5%.  Montango and Euphoria had their own cheering sections.

The Keenan family including father, and mother, Kim the show organizer as well as sister Jeanette from Montana supported the gorgeous black Dutch gelding who was piloted by brilliant rider Steffen Peters through a flawless test.

Nick Wagman was ecstatic about his 7 year old Dutch mare’s second only PSG and first CDI. “She is easy, easy easy! It sound cliché, but I have never felt such a bond with a horse.

I am so excited about her. I purchased the mare, who is by Negro, in Holland as a three year old to be an investment horse, but riding her she has shown such talent for the Grand Prix I just cannot imagine selling her at this time. She is my home project.

I have had all of three lessons on her: two with Guenter and one with Robert Dover last week. My plan is to keep schooling toward Grand Prix since she has such aptitude toward collection. If we do thing in I-I Champs this year, that’s great. But our sights are set on 2010, the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky.”

Thursday’s CDI classes began with the FEI Young Rider Team the Young Rider FEI Team test was won by Ashley Schempp on Mowgli with a 63% followed by Jaclyn Meinen and Rivaal. Holly Bergay on Soliloguy placed third, with Susan Walker and Endor in fourth.
