Cornerstone Event Management's Festival of the Horse CDI ***

Competitors and Management start fund for Critically Injured Trainer - Ricardo Amayo

A dark cloud has hung over the Cornerstone Event Management's Festival of the Horse CDI*** over the news of professional dressage rider Ricardo Amaya, critical injury. The 47-year-old rider, of Woodland Hills, California suffered some sort of fall while schooling a horse on Wednesday. No one is exactly sure what happened to Amaya as he was alone schooling the horse and out of view of those in the barn. Reports are that the horse he was schooling returned to the barn alone, prompting people at the barn to go to the ring where they found Amaya unconscious on the ground. He was taken to the hospital and remains in criticle condition.

As of noon EST this has been reported by a source near the family: "He is still in medical ICU at Los Robles Hospital - as of now. Thank you for responding and I am happy to help you clear up the rumors. "

Reports are that Amaya, a native of Columbia, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident and may have been hit in the head by the horse. Although how is unknown.

Cornerstone Event Management is collecting donations for the family, which can be sent to the
Amaya Family Fund, c/o of Cornerstone Event Management.
