The inaugural CDI3*/CDIY/CDIJ Angelstone Spring Tournament was blessed with wonderful weather. Competitors highly praised the wonderful international class footing in all competition and warm-up rings. The Main Stadium presented challenges to some horses and riders with its truly International ambiance, including a concert quality sound system. Surrounded on low raised berms were three sides of tents (VIP, SPONSOR & Rider spaces) the arena is exactly what riders in North America need to introduce their horses to what to this time only Europe and Florida have offered. The brand new spacious stables enclosed with state of the art tents, with rounded as opposed to pointed peaks, were received with praise & positive compliments regarding the “look” and stalls size. Angelstone Farms near Rockwood, Ontario has created quite a stir amongst the equestrian community. Saturday evening a live band will play with an all evening party at the Cloud Nine Lounge on Angelstone! This week Angelstone presents the first of their 2013 large Hunter/Jumper competitions including a CSI. The transition from Dressage to Jumper competition was managed swiftly and effortlessly by the outstanding Angelstone ground crew.

What a final as a fitting finish to four days of international dressage at four-star level. Despite the less than inviting weather, Carinthian spectators flocked to the GLOCK Horse Performance Center to see 'their' stars and above all GLOCK rider Edward Gal (NED) on his jet black GLOCK's Undercover and Spaniard Juan Manuel Muñoz Díaz on his gorgeous grey Fuego de Cardenas in the freestyle where prize money totalled €75,000.  Gal's music Secretum Revelatum transported the almost completely silent audience during the marvellous dressage performance. GLOCK's Undercover seemed very frisky but showed impressive collection. He made the piaffes and passages look relaxed, the canter powerful, the pirouettes well placed and the half-passes elegant. The audience was captivated and gave the multiple World and European Champion and third in the 2013 World Cup final a big round of applause. An 83.450% score with just about eights to nines for the technical and artistic execution and therefore victory was the judges' reward in today's final day of the Dressage International. "Starting twice and winning twice was really special here," said GLOCK rider Edward Gal, wreathed in smiles at the winner's interview.

Did You Know…..that if you purchase a new horse and pay a commercial shipper to ship the horse home, that you can add the value of the shipping (not to include quarantine cost if applicable) to the insured value? You have just made a huge investment, and now you need to make sure that your new addition makes it home safely. Although most commercial shippers carry insurance for the purpose of a crash, it usually carries small limits to cover each horse in the case of a death, and almost never covers medical issues that may arise.  As long as your new horse has insurance in effect before it loads on a trailer or plane, the horse is covered for full Mortality & Medical/Surgical (if chosen).  Accidents happen, let’s make sure your horse is protected.
