Bundeschampion Callaho’s Benicio Stationed at Gestüt Famos

Bundeschampion Callaho’s Benicio Stationed at Gestüt Famos (Photo: Tanja Becker)
Spectacular news from Gestüt Famos at the beginning of the new year: The Bundeschampion and record breaking stallion performance test winner, Callaho’s Benicio, will be stationed in Syke in 2012 and the cooperation with the Stallion Station of Ludger Beerbaum Stables has been wrapped up. "A great moment" was Christoph Hess' comment when Callaho’s Benicio made his appearance at the 2011 Bundeschampionat in the class for six-year old dressage horses. The judges gave him the dream scores of 10.0 for his trot and walk, a 9.5 for overall impression and a 9.0 for his canter. With that result, no competitor could take the title away from the dark chestnut stallion. Callaho’s Benicio even topped that result at his 30-day test in Schlieckau: There he received a 10.0 for his walk, trot and canter. Overall, he received the highest possible score ten times. The weighted final score of 9.14 meant a clear victory. His final score with emphasis on dressage was 9.88 (estimated breeding value in dressage: 167 points) and with that result, Callaho’s Benicio even topped the record result of his sire, Belissimo M, who received a 9.63 at his performance test in Zweibrücken in 2002.
After he was licensed in 2007 in Verden, Callaho’s Benicio, a Hanoverian stallion, was sold by his breeder, Wilhelm Stadtlander from Lilienthal, to South Africa. In 2010 his owners sent him back to Germany to be trained by Anna-Sophie Fiebelkorn.
To improve services for breeders and to expand their offer of stallions, Gestüt Famos has entered a cooperation with the Stallion Station of Ludger Beerbaum Stables. With this coup, not only are the time-tested Famos sires available – Contendro I, Concetto Famos, Landstreicher, Charilan, Don Marco, Providence, St. Moritz II and Van Helsing as well as the interesting Famos newcomers, the Hanoverian premium stallion Quinturo, Contact Famos who was also licensed in Verden, the Hanoverian Show Jumping Championships finalist Commissario, the stallion performance test winner Sampres, Captain Morgan who has won a series of tests for young show jumpers, and the shooting star, Hunter’s Scendix – but also all of the stallions stationed in Riesenbeck, including the Olympic winner Goldfever and the triple German Champion who took fifth place at the EC, Coupe de Coeur.
You will be able to see the Bundeschampion and record breaking stallion performance test winner, Callaho’s Benicio, again along with the other top stallions at Gestüt Famos as well as the stallions from the new partner station, Ludger Beerbaum Stables, on Friday, March 2nd at the Oldenburg Horse Center Vechta. Tickets can be reserved by calling +49 (0)421-363636.
