A Different But Successful Dressage At Devon For The Team From Piaffe-Performance

Devon, PA  – Dressage At Devon proved to be a great weekend for the team from Piaffe-Performance Farm, as their riders not only won ribbons but also signed autographs, appeared on a television news segment and took part in educational demonstrations at the prestigious show. Piaffe-Performance riders, led by Dr. Cesar Parra, have found great success at Devon over the years and the well-loved international trainer and rider was pleased to return to Devon with his team. Parra was recently named to the United States Pan Am Dressage Team with Grandioso, owned by Michael and Sarah Davis, and will travel to Guadalajara in October to represent the U.S.

As the first Latin American dressage rider to become an American citizen and ride on a U.S. team, Parra is thrilled to be representing the United States. Parra passed on his enthusiasm at Devon by performing demonstrations on Friday and Saturday night of the show.

“I was really proud to do a demonstration on Friday and Saturday
night for the Devon crowd, which highlighted our training system with
commentary from Jessica Ransehousen and Katie Riley, my senior trainer at Piaffe Performance,” Parra said. “The Devon crowd is so special and the environment is electric. It was great preparation for Grandi as he gets ready to represent the USA at the Pan American Games. I want to thank the Devon organizers for letting Grandi show his stuff!”

Parra was also thrilled that his riders performed well at the show. “Nicholas Torres and Silver Label won both of their classes in the CDI Junior division and Dominique Cassavetis and Charming Princess finished their junior career with beautiful tests and good results,” Parra said. “Chase Hickok wrapped up what was a super year for her, finishing second in the Young Riders the first day and coming back to win the individual test and freestyle. Krista Schrager and Kamelot continued their success in Young Riders, placing second and third. Bebe Davis also showed at Devon for the first time in the Pony division and we are all very proud of her!”

Kevin Kohmann and Dave and Taunia Reed's Agastrofos debuted at a new level, starting in the Brentina Cup class. “Aga has super talent for the Grand Prix movements and looks happy to be showing them off in the ring,” Parra said. “Michael and Sarah Davis' Federleicht and Katie's Leo both competed in the Fourth level classes and overcame the distractions that make Devon so special. Federleicht and Kevin won at Fourth Level Test 2 while Leo and Katie placed sixth and fourth. In the breed division, the Reed's Spitfire showed her stuff, placing second in her class and handling well what can be a crazy environment on the breed show days!”

Parra, who rides in a dressage saddle from Trilogy Saddles and is sponsored by the saddle company, also took time out of his busy schedule to sign autographs at the Trilogy booth. The local news television station also filmed a segment, which included Parra at the Trilogy booth. “It was a great show all the way around. There was a lot to be proud of, both from our younger riders as well as our up and coming younger horses!”
