Coatesville, PA - Iron Spring Farm welcomed the KFPS Friesian stallion Tjalbert 460 to the United States last month. The handsome six-year-old is already a dressage champion in the Netherlands as well as the sire of keuring champions. He has joined the other stallions at the historic farm that is home to the likes of Teade 392 Sport, Brend 413 Sport and Ulbert 390 Sport. Tjalbert is already enjoying his dressage training and hacks in the beautiful fields of Coatesville, PA. Although it has been just a few weeks since his arrival, Tjalbert has won hearts at the barn with his incredibly sweet personality. It is clear that he loves people and is eager to please. These traits make him a wonderful riding horse, but are also ideal in a breeding stallion.

In the Netherlands Tjalbert was ridden with great success by Miranda Venema. His dressage career in Europe included championships at the 2011 Indoor Friesian Championships and the 2012 KFPS Variso competition. He has naturally uphill movement and a clear talent for dressage.

Tjalbert is by the popular sire Beart 411 Sport (Jasper 366 Preferent x Feitse 293 Preferent) out of the Star mare Grevinne Fan Lutke Peijua (Ulke 338 Sport x Melle 311 Sport). This is a strong motherline (Stam 50) that is highly sought after. Tjalbert is also free from Wessel blood, making him extremely valuable as a sire.
 
Tjalbert's first foals were presented last year and at the Grofsefehn keuring in Germany, his offspring were awarded Champion Filly and Champion Colt.
 
His excellent linear score makes him a good choice for an exceptionally wide variety of mares. He improves conformation, legs and feet, as well as the walk and trot. In his stallion inspection, it was noted that he has a powerful walk with good reach, a balanced and supple trot, and good canter. He also dazzles with his very black coat and will add height. Tjalbert is considered an all-around stallion that is suitable for producing horses for dressage and driving, as well as nice all-around sporthorses.
