The 2012 London Olympic Dressage Team in the opening ceremonies

I lucked out and last minute was given a ticket to the Opening Ceremony for the 2012 London Olympic Games. While I could talk about the various things that took place I’ll let the pictures do the talking. But just to mention a couple of highlights. The evening ended with Paul McCartney singing “Hey Jude” which followed the arrival of the torch and the lighting of the flame. Another surprise guest included Muhammad Ali. A cool fireworks display also ended the evening right after the parade of the countries, which took close to two hours.

The earlier part of the evening was all about artistry, British history and creativity. Of the 1600 accredited media, only 400 were credential for the Opening Ceremony and among them weren’t many equine media. So, I am glad I had the chance to witness this event in person.

Now enjoy the pictures!
