USA Technical Advisor Anne Gribbons To Resign

Anne Gribbons, Technical Advisor/Coach of the US Dressage team has announced that she will no longer continue in the role of team coach once her contract with the United States Equestrian Federation concludes on November 30, 2012. Anne took over the role as Technical Advisor from German Gold Medalist Klaus Balkenhol who was the team coach for a stretch or eight years. The US riders have experienced much success under Anne's guidance with a fourth place team finish at the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Lexington, KY where Steffen Peters earned two individual Bronze Medals and the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico where the US made history in winning not only team Gold, but all three individual medals to boot! In addition to her responsibilities of National Coach, it was Anne's vision to set in place a system of coaching from our Young and Developing horse programs to Young Riders and of course the High Performance riders.

She said in an interview with Kelly Sanchez for DressageDaily.com that “What I hope is that when I leave this job there’s a system in place that the riders trust, because this is what we’ve been lacking. It’s an enormous task, because the country is so huge. Our biggest enemy is our distances. In Germany or Holland, they can hop in the car and meet in two hours. We have that fight and always will. But if we work together, we can make it better.”

With Anne's dedication to the cause, we now have Debbie McDonald as the Developing Horse Coach, Jeremy Steinberg as the US Youth Coach as well as Scott Hassler as our Young Horse Coach so her vision is on course.

Anne will focus on judging as one of only four International Equestrian Federation (FEI) 5* judges in the US as well as her role on the FEI Dressage COmmittee. She has a thriving training business at the state of the art Knoll Dressage in Chuluota, FL that she shares with her husband David.
