Contango Preferent - KWPN

Contango was the champion of his 100-day test at Medingen in 1991 with a score of 146.89. He won both the dressage and jumping portions to claim the championship and finished with one of the highest overall scores of all time. Contango had a successful career as a show jumper in the Netherlands before switching to dressage. In his dressage career he won 33 Grand Prix classes, including six championships.

Contango has become well known for offspring competing both in Grand Prix dressage and show jumping. Son Ravel is recognized worldwide as the winner of the 2009 Rolex FEI World Cup Dressage Finals, his clean sweep at the 2009 CDIO Aachen and his two bronze medals for the USA team the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

Contango’s sons and daughters inherit their sire’s athletic ability, movement and versatility. Among his offspring: Approved sons Citango, Maestro, 28 Star mares/geldings, 4 Keur mares and more than 60 First Premium foals. His Grand Prix dressage offspring include Ravel, New Tango, Royal Tango, Nanou, Maverick, Madorijke, Carrera, Maestro, Show Time, May Fair and Now I’m Here. Grand Prix show jumping offspring Maroon, Minneavera, Newton, Nada Penny, Nouvelle, Vereist Maranci, Mompty and Carousel.2009 Citango Top Ten Pavo Cup, Oslo and Caravella Junior Team Gold medals NAJYRC, Montango Collecting Gaits Farm/USAEF Intermediaire-I Reserve Champion, 2008 and in 2008-201 KWPN-NA #1 Top Five Award Winners Beyonce, Citation ISF, Contessa, Daytona ISF, Avanti ISF.
