Harmony's Rousseau - KWPN
Rousseau stepped into the spotlight at the 2001 KPWN Stallion Licensing at Den Bosch, where he was named to the Championship Ring and was top sale at the KWPN Select Sale. He entered sport as the 2002 PAVO Cup Champion, 2003 PAVO Cup Reserve Champion, and 2003 KWPN Stallion Show Champion. Rousseau's Silver Medal finish at the 2003 FEI World Breeding Championships for Young Horses helped earned Rousseau lifetime licensing in Hanover, Oldenburg, and Westphalia, increasing his access throughout Germany.
At an early age, Rousseau clearly established himself as a leading sire and is represented by Champion sons and offspring around the world. In 2007, Rousseau carried the highest dressage index in the Dutch breed with 181 points. Rousseau's Dutch sons Wamberto, Ampere (nee: Ajong), and Blue Hors Zack (nee: Zagreb) were each hailed as KWPN Stallion Licensing Champions in 2006, 2007, and 2008 - a feat never before achieved by one sire. In 2007, Wamberto (ds. Voltaire) earned the highest scores ever at his U.S. 100- Day Stallion Performance test. Ampere (ds. Flemmingh) also earned the highest dressage score in history for his KWPN Stallion Performance Test. Blue Hors Zack (ds. Jazz) was the highest selling young stallion ever at the KWPN Select Sale at 430,000 euros to Blue Hors of Denmark. Zack placed 3rd in the Danish Young Horse Championships in 2008.
Out of Rousseau's first German foal crop, his son Fiorano (ds. Rotspon) was titled Premium at the 2007 VhW licensing and went on to win his 70-Day Performance Test while Fuerst Rousseau (ds. Weltmeyer) concluded his Performance Test 3rd of 29. Furst Rousseau now stands at Celle, the Hannoverian State Stud. Further results in Germany include a Rousseau-Lauries Crusador xx licensed in the late 2008 Hanoverian korung and a Rousseau-Del Piero licensed by the GOV. Rousseau has also produced numerous Champion ster mares and each year has top mares in the National Mare Show in Holland: ‘05 - Violita (ds. Krack C), ‘06 - Wodora (ds. Columbus), & ‘07 - Zonnefony (ds. Ahorn).
A top class stallion who consistently produces top class offspring, Rousseau is readily available to North American breeders for fresh, cooled semen services; we proudly offer his frozen semen services to breeders around the world with ready inventories waiting in Europe.
