On February 26, in
Wellington Florida the Equestrian Aid Foundation
will host another great party, honoring two
legends of our sport Jessica Ransehousen and
George Morris.
Beyond the
glitz and the glamour of the fundraisers, parties,
is an organization which is making a difference in
the lives of many of our sick and injured
colleagues. My friend, and now Kentucky
neighbor Debbie Atkinson, a longtime
professional event rider and trainer is one of
those recipients, with the EAF helping to fund her
required 24 hour professional care, so she can
live in her home, on her farm, and watch her
retired horses graze in the fields. Stay tuned
later this week as we bring an in depth interview
with Debbie, and how she is still staying closely
connected to her equestrian life.
Come to the party, or just visit
the website, become a member and be generous
with your donations and your hearts. The Equestrian Aid
Foundation really
works!
Happy Shopping and hope to see you soon!

News Flash! USEF President David O'Connor Responds to
Article Circulated by Dressage Rider Catherine
Haddad |
We
wish to clarify the process by which the selection
procedures for naming the 2008 Olympic Games Dressage
Team were developed and the rationale behind their
design. Ms. Haddad's article
implies that these procedures were developed without
consideration being given to her concerns and that horse
welfare was not a consideration which is wholly
incorrect. Moreover, her opinions do a disservice
to the active athletes and volunteers who have spent
countless hours making the process fair and compliant
with the Ted Stevens Amateur Sports Act.
The USEF High Performance Dressage Active
Athletes Committee made its first recommendation about
the design of these selection procedures to the USEF
High Performance Dressage Committee in April 2007. Read
