Dressage Trainer, Rider, Competitor

Based in Snohomish, Washington, with strong California connections, FEI trainer and competitor Alyssa Pagon Pitts’s break through on the show scene came aboard a once rogue mare named Jil Sander, a 2002 Oldenburg by Don Larino out of a Hohenstein x Rouletto mare. Invited to the USEF Talent Search with Debbie McDonald and the USEF Elite Rider Clinic with Morten Thomsen in 2010 marked a gratifying turning point as the former “very naughty project horse” has gone on to exceed her wildest expectations.

Developing her own horses and sponsor horses into national and international competitors happens at AP Dressage, where Alyssa trains and teaches out of Cedar Meadow Farm located in Echo Lake, near Seattle. Pitts moved her thriving business from the Bay Area to be closer to family and in less than a year has filled her barn with 26 horses in full training.

Alyssa has also coached several California Dressage Society Junior Champions and her students have also been quite successful at the CDS/USDF Championships. Added to her resume, Alyssa is also a USDF L judge program graduate with distinction and USEF "r" judge candidate.

“My ambitions to become an international rider have been a passion and goal from the beginning. It is a lofty goal but the process of trying to become a better rider and trainer has made me a better person.”
