Chrissa F. Hoffmann - Dressage Rider, Trainer and Clinician

In August 2011, Chrissa F. Hoffmann put up a For Sale sign on her 18-acre farm in Prospect, Kentucky and relocated her very successful dressage training and sales barn Glenfield Farm to Ocala, Florida. The move, prompted when her husband accepted a diagnostic radiologist job, puts Chrissa in a favorable position. With her new base of operations closer to the major winter circuits CFH Dressage has 8-10 horses in training with 2-3 quality sales horses. CFH Dressage will continue to offer clinics in Florida with prominent trainers bringing their Kentucky program to the south. With the added sponsorship of Troxel Helmets and Buckeye Nutrition, Hoffman did not waste much time in making the transition.

Axel Steiner is first up on November 5-6th, 2011 and Dressage Training Online, where Chrissa has been a featured trainer since 2006, will film the sessions. The 19-acre farm surrounded by 100 year old, live oak trees offers perfect facilities with a 24-stall show barn and 200 x 200 outdoor ring to host top clinicians and other large events. Plans are in the works for developing more clinics at her new Ocala location which can accommodate the central and northern Florida dressage riders

A USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medalist, Chrissa captured the spotlight by winning the 2009 Gold Coast Dressage Opener Festival CDI-W in West Palm Beach, earning an impressive 65.5% aboard F. Ferrelli, a Rhinelander gelding, by Florestan 1. The pair also placed sixth in the World Cup Qualifier Grand Prix at the WEF Dressage Classic CDI-W in Wellington. Ferrelli has since been sold to a client.

For the 2011-12 season, Chrissa is excited to show off her new young horse, Scrabble, a 2006 gelding by Sandro Hit x DeNiro. She takes pride in training and developing her own horses and has trained four horses to the Grand Prix level along with eight other horses, over the years, to the FEI levels, Her latest accomplishment, Traumulous Havdal, a 1999 Danish gelding, is now a confirmed Grand Prix horse Hoffman trained for owner Peggy Randolph.

“Traum, like Ferrelli has international quality gaits,” says Chrissa. Although 18.0 hands, she says he feels light as a feather with extreme elegance and grace in his movement. “It's been super fun to develop this horse as he came with some training issues but has really blossomed into a fantastic horse!”

Chrissa plans to keep in touch with her many dedicated Kentucky students and clients by teaching her own clinics on a regular basis at USDF Silver medalist Karri McFadden’s Stonewood Farm, www.kmcfdressage.com, in Lebanon Ohio.
